Working with Saved Views

Saved Views are a list of different ways to view orders. You can create and update these views on the Orders page. You can also control access to all orders and other saved views on the Saved Views page.

All Orders View

The "ALL" view is a default view that shows all orders and is accessible to all users. However, you can restrict access to this view by navigating to the Saved Views page from menu. Select "Set who can see the ALL tab on the orders page" option. By clicking this a small pop up window will appear. Here you can specify who can view this view by selecting the drop down menu. The available options are listed below:

  • Visible to all users
  • Disabled for all users
  • Visible for selected users only.

If you choose the "visible for selected users only" option, you can select which users have access to the "ALL" tab. Any users that are not selected, will not see the "ALL" tab listed on the Orders page.

Public Views

Public views are saved views that are accessible to all users. Public Views are created when the Shopify Admin creates a view or when any Admin user edits a Private View and enables the "All Users" setting from the Saved Views page.

Steps to create a view:

  • From the app admin, go to Orders Page.
  • Filter the orders to the specifications needed for a frequent view requirement.
  • Once all filters have been applied, and optimal order date range selected, Click "..." button in top right corner and select "Save As".

  • Enter a Name for this newly created view

  • Your new view will now be visible next to the default "All" view

  • The newly created view will be hidden from "All Users" unless edited from the Saved Views page to turn the Private View into a Public View for "All" or a specific selection of Users.

Control access to a Public View

Steps:

  • From the app admin, go to Saved Views.

  • Select the Action button next to the View you would like to update.

  • Select "Users"

  • Enable "ALL Users" to make the Private View accessible for ALL users
  • To make the view accessible to specific users, disable the "ALL Users" option and select the checkbox next to each user that should have access to the view
  • Click Save.

Note: If the "All Users" option is unchecked, and no individual users are checked, then the view will become hidden and will not be visible to any users on the Order page.

Rename a Public View

Steps:

  • From the app admin, go to Saved Views.

  • Select the Action button next to the View you would like to update.

  • Select "Rename"
  • Enter the new name for the view
  • Click Save.

Delete a Public View

Steps:

  • From the app admin, go to Saved Views.

  • Select the Action button next to the View you would like to update.

  • Select "Delete"
  • Click Delete.

Private Views

When a user logs into the app, they can save a view that only they can see. This is called a Private View. Admin users have the ability to convert a Private View into a Public View, which allows other users to access the saved view.

Save Private View as a Public View

Steps:

  • From the app admin, go to Saved Views

  • The column Visibility will show which views are available to All Users, Hidden, or which specific Users have been selected as approved for a view.

  • Select the Action button next to the View you would like to update

  • Select "Users"
  • From here you can choose how the view should be available to All or some of the users.

Delete a Private View

Steps:

  • From the app admin, go to Saved Views
  • Select the Action button next to the View you would like to update
  • Select "Delete"
  • Click Delete to remove the view or Cancel to go back

  • You can also delete a view from the Orders page
